Meet your English teacher Jhen K!

Hi! I'm Jhen K, a certified ESL teacher since 2024. Though I'm relatively new to teaching, my fresh perspective and genuine passion for languages make each lesson both dynamic and effective. I believe learning happens best when students are engaged and having fun! That's why you'll often find me bringing my ukulele to class for musical language activities. Nothing helps vocabulary stick like putting it to a catchy tune! My students love when I incorporate movement and dance into lessons—it's wonderful how physical activity can reinforce language patterns in ways traditional methods can't. When we practice conversation, I draw from my travels and love of films to create meaningful discussion topics. These real-world connections help students see language as a living tool rather than just classroom material. Outside class, you might find me singing along to my favorite songs, always picking up new expressions to share with students!
